Service overview
Most small businesses do not have a brand problem, they have a consistency problem. The logo is one blue, the website is another, and the invoice is in whatever font the software opened with. A customer who sees all three reads it, without ever putting it into words, as a business that is not quite in control of itself.
So the work is not a logo. It is a small set of decisions: one type pairing, a palette with a reason behind each colour, and rules plain enough that whoever prints your next sign gets it right without ringing us.
What's included
One scope, agreed in writing before anything starts, covering the mark, the palette, the type and the guidelines that hold them together. If the scope grows we agree it with you first, so there is no invoice you have not already seen.
An identity is finished when the person applying it does not have to ask you a question. Anything that still needs explaining is a rule you have not written yet.
- Primary logo and its variants
- A palette with screen and print values
- Type pairing with real licences
- Favicon, avatar and social crops
- Written usage rules, in plain English
- Files in vector and in raster
- Templates for the things you send out
- Full ownership, no licence back to us
How it looks in practice
Two identities from the studio's own shelf. Different trades, same test: hand the kit to someone else and see whether they can apply it without you in the room.
Frequently asked
The four that come up on nearly every first call. If yours is not here, ask it. You will get a straight answer, not a brochure.
Yes, all of them, in vector and raster, and they are yours outright, with no licence back to us and nothing you have to keep paying for. If you part ways with us tomorrow, the identity leaves with you.
Two or three, properly built, rather than twenty thumbnails. A wall of options mostly proves the studio had no view. We would rather bring a small number we can each argue for, and then refine the one you respond to.
Often that is the better job. If the mark has equity we keep it and fix what is around it: the type, the colour, the spacing rules. We only recommend starting over when the existing one is actively working against you, and we will tell you why rather than just quoting for it.
Ask. Small additions for existing clients (another social crop, a template, a size for a sign-maker) are usually quick and quoted before we start. The guidelines are written so that most of the time you will not need us at all.
